Apply for Winter Fuel Payments
The Winter Fuel Payment is an annual payment to help older people with their heating bills.
How to use this service
You should qualify for a Winter Fuel Payment if you were born on or before 5 July 1951 and you are normally resident in Northern Ireland during the qualifying week of 17 to 23 September 2012.
If you got a Winter Fuel Payment last winter, you should automatically get one this winter as long as your circumstances have not changed.

Claiming for past winters
To make backdated claims for Winter Fuel Payments for the years 1997-1998 to 1999-2000 you need to use the Winter Fuel Payment claim form for past winters.
You can also request this form from the Winter Fuel Payment helpline below.
From 2000 to 2001 deadlines for claims were introduced and it is unlikely you will be able to claim for the years 2000/01 to 2008/09.
