Take an official practice theory test

The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) provides online samples of theory tests for car drivers. The links below take you to practice screens similar to the theory test you will take at the test centre. Each test has 50 multiple choice questions and there are no hazard perception clips.

How to use this service

In order to take these practice tests, you need Adobe Flash 9 installed on your computer. If you do not have Adobe Flash 9, you can download it from the Adobe website.

You can do these practice tests as often as you want.

Official learning materials

The DVSA publishes a wide range of official learning materials. These include books, CD-ROMs and DVDs to help you prepare for your theory test. You can purchase these from high street book stores or online.
