You will find your User ID on the card sent to you by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) when you first registered to use an HMRC online service

The link above will take you to the log in and registration page for Self Assessment Online. When you log out of the service you'll be returned to Directgov. HMRC's own terms and conditions will apply while you use Self Assessment online.

When logging in you will need your User ID and password.
