Search PRONI's online records

The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) has a programme of digitising significant archives to make them accessible to the public online.

How to use this service

At present you can access two types of archival information online:

Online archives

Online archives are fully searchable. When you find an entry you are interested in, you can then view a digital image of the original document.

Online guides and indexes

Finding aids are an essential part of your research – you can use them to identify archives you may be interested in, find out more information about the contents of an archive and identify PRONI reference numbers.

Please note, you cannot view images of the actual records online.
