The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) aims to make Northern Ireland safer for everyone through professional, progressive policing.

The PSNI achieves its aims through policing with the community. This proactive, community-driven approach sees the police and local community working together to identify and solve problems.

The work of the PSNI is overseen through a system of accountability structures, including the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Policing Board.

In an emergency dial 999 or 18000 from a text phone. (An emergency is where serious injury has been caused or a crime is in progress and the suspects are at or near the scene.)

Northern Ireland Crimestoppers is a national charity which works in partnership with the police and the media to help to solve crime. It offers the public a free telephone number which you can call anonymously to give information about individuals involved in crime - or about any criminal activity.
