Appointment of a Commissioner for Public Appointments

The Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister is seeking to appoint a Commissioner for Public Appointments.

  • remuneration: £23,877 per annum
  • period of appointment: five years commencing 3 August 2015
  • time commitment: 75 days per annum
  • regulated by CPA NI: no

Appointment of one chair and seven non executive directors to the Western Health and Social Care Trust

The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety is seeking to appoint one chair and seven non executive directors (one with specific financial experience) to the Western Health and Social Care Trust (WHSCT).

The WHSCT is one of five HSC Trusts established in 2007 responsible for the delivery of responsive and effective health and care services and for the ownership and management of hospitals and other establishments and facilities.

  • remuneration: chair £29,716 per annum and non executive directors £7,960 per annum
  • period of appointment: four years commencing on 1 August 2015 for the chair and three non executive directors and 1 April 2016 for four non-executive directors.
  • time commitment: chair three days per week and one day per week for non executive directors
  • regulated by CPA NI: yes

Appointment of three members to the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA)

The Department of Education is seeking to appoint three members to the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).

CCEA is responsible for keeping under review all aspects of the curriculum, examinations and assessment for grant aided schools and colleges of further education.

  • remuneration: travel and subsistence allowances only
  • period of appointment: four years commencing as soon as possible
  • time commitment: one to two days per month

Appointment of one chair and four board members to the Livestock and Meat Commission for Northern Ireland (LMC)

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is seeking to appoint a new chair and four members to the board of the Livestock and Meat Commission for Northern Ireland(LMC).

The LMC has an important role to fulfil in the development of the livestock (cattle and sheep) and related products industry. This includes developing strategic marketing initiatives which will benefit the whole industry.

  • remuneration: chair £17,315 per annum and board members £6,485 per annum
  • period of appointment: three years commencing on 7 November 2015 for the chair and three years commencing on 1 July 2015 for four board members
  • time commitment: chair four days per month and two to three days per month for board members
  • regulated by CPA NI: yes

Appointment of non-executive directors of the Strategic Investment Board (SIB) Limited

The Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister is seeking to appoint two non-executive directors (one general position and one finance position) to the Strategic Investment Board (SIB) Limited.

The Strategic Investment Board Limited (SIB) supports the Northern Ireland Executive to plan capital investment, deliver major and complex infrastructure projects and manage public sector systems and property assets.

  • remuneration: £11,000 per annum plus allowable expenses
  • period of appointment: three years commencing as soon as possible for the finance position and on 1 November 2015 for the general position
  • time commitment: two days per month
  • regulated by CPA NI: yes

The Department of Education invites applications for school governor positions.
