Appointment of a Commissioner for Victims and Survivors

The Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister is seeking to appoint a Victims Commissioner to promote the interests of victims and survivors of the Conflict/Troubles in Northern Ireland.

It is intended that victims and survivors should have a strong independent voice and that the Commissioner will be able to contribute to the development of policies which address the longer term needs of those who have suffered.

  • remuneration: £75,000 per annum
  • period of appointment: four years (with possibility of a further four year term)
  • time commitment: full time
  • regulated by CPA NI: yes

Appointment of three members to the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment

The Department of Education is seeking to appoint three members to the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).

CCEA is responsible for keeping under review all aspects of the curriculum, examinations and assessment for grant aided schools and colleges of further education.

  • remuneration: travel and subsistence allowances only
  • period of appointment: four years commencing as soon as possible
  • time commitment: one to two days per month
  • regulated by CPA NI: yes

Appointment of school governors

The Department of Education invites applications for school governor positions.

The role of the Board of Governors is to manage the school with a view to providing the best possible education and educational opportunities for all of the pupils.

  • period of appointment: up to four years
  • time commitment: varies depending on school requirements
  • regulated by CPA NI: no
